GUERNSEY Ladies are playing it cool ahead of the biggest game of their relatively short history.

Victory over Worthing at Footes Lane on Sunday lunchtime will guarantee them the NC South East South One title and having thrashed the same side by 52 points back in September there is every reason for the home support to be confident.

Coach Chris Griffiths said that it was important for his players to control their understandable excitement.

'Our approach to this game has been one of calm focus. It would be easy to get carried away with the sense of occasion with the league title at our mercy.

'There is a palpable sense of hype and a level of attention that the players may not be used to surrounding this game, but we are all doing our utmost to ensure that we simply concentrate on the task at hand, focus on who we are playing and make sure that we play our game and not the occasion.'
