THE addition of two UK-based players in Guernsey's first team squad will be 'beneficial' in their quest to win a first inter-insular in a dozen years later today.

Teenage pair Amy Fallaize and Alice Gallienne, who have been involved with NPL development league level netball this season while at university, have both been named in a strong Guernsey dozen for the clash with Jersey.

It seems that both may even be in the starting seven, but with Lorna Hall (injured) and Tiff Gervaise-Brazier (holiday) out, it would mean some positional switches.

Gallienne is likely to be a straight defensive swap for Hall, while Lyndsey Bougourd could replace Gervaise-Brazier at wing defence and thus push Fallaize forward into an unfamiliar wing attack role.

Although Guernsey joint coach James Robert says his side has not yet been picked, he admits that the presence of the two UK-based, but Guernsey born and bred, youngsters is a positive step.
