A QUARTER-FINAL against the world No. 1 is Heather Watson's reward for keeping her Monterrey Open title defence on track last night.

The Guernsey star defied the seedings to ease past Ekaterina Makarova 6-4, 6-1 and will now face Angelique Kerber in the last eight.
'I think it'll be a good match,' said world No. 1 Kerber.
'She won here last year and is the defending champion, so she knows the court and venue. I'm looking forward to playing against her.'
