Saunders gets his timing right – unlike the computer
JUST two men broke the 30sec. barrier as another hill climb season roared back into life on Le Val des Terres yesterday.

Under the shadow of the Havelet departments development at the foot of the hill, Nick Saunders lit the touch paper to the day's fastest time with a super 28.88 on his third and final timed run of a day, which was beset by timing problems that brought it to a premature end.
Like the shade thrown down by the ever-growing building development, Saunders has raced in the shadow of Darren Warwick in recent seasons.
But the man behind the wheel of the EI Sturdza Reynick has himself long been a giant of the domestic hill climb scene and in Warwick's enforced absence yesterday, he took centre stage with a run of quick climbs that gave him the racing cars class victory.
