With many of the island's big guns on show, it was a surprisingly comprehensive 5.5-1.5 victory for the RGGC as every one of their five players in receipt of shots claimed a point for Tom Le Huray's side.
The first-team captain was the only member of the team who had to give shots to his opponent, but by the time he and Tom Pattimore reached the 18th green, L'Ancresse's chances of progression had long since vanished.
The Royal wins came for Sam Le Huray, Emile Thompson, Shaun McDade, David Robinson and Sean Mills with Wayne Moore picking up the solitary full point for L'Ancresse to go with Pattimore's half.
