A BIG home draw against the holders awaits but two of local football’s current big three – St Martin’s and North – must first try to overcome one another in the Jeremie Cup.

Tonight sees the first of two midweek all-Guernsey first round ties being played, with a further double-header following at the weekend to set up the inter-island quarter-finals.

Vale Rec host Manzur tomorrow but it is tonight that sees the pick of the ties as the two favourites to win the Priaulx League title in many eyes go head-to-head at Blanche Pierre Lane.

For the hosts it is a chance to continue their impressive Jeremie form, having reached the semi-finals in both of the last two seasons, while for North, it is the chance to rectify their own indifference in the competition.

Whoever does progress will come up against the might of St Paul’s on what promises to be a blockbuster weekend of action next month when all four last-eight ties are played.

Both tonight and tomorrow’s games kick off at 7.30pm.
