Drama at BPL

GUERNSEY’S Saints have booked a date with Jersey’s Saints but they had to do it the hard way.

In a Jeremie Cup cracker, St Martin’s had to come from two goals behind, including a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in regulation play to force extra time, to set up a last-eight clash with CI champions St Paul’s and ensure North’s cup woes continue.

Although it was Danny Hale who struck in the first half of extra time to win last night’s tie for Saints 3-2 at a wet and windy Blanche Pierre Lane, the home side’s hero was Damian Le Tocq who scored the dramatic 93rd-minute leveller after goals from Ryan Lamb and Scott Bougourd had put North 2-0 ahead with Marc McGrath halving the deficit.
