Le Poullain confident of a podium place down under
NOT content with being the first Guernsey boxer ever to be selected for the Commonwealth Games, winning a medal in Australia is the confident prediction from Billy Le Poullain.

One of the first seven members of Team Guernsey to officially be confirmed last week, the 22-year-old will fight in the 69kg division on the Gold Coast next April.
Although it marks a big step up for both him and Guernsey boxing, Le Poullain believes he has what it takes to mix it with – and beat – the best.
‘I knew I had fulfilled the selection criteria [by reaching the national ABA semi-finals], but I suppose that until it was confirmed, there is still a little nagging doubt in your mind,’ he said.
‘But now I know I am definitely going I am so excited and everything between now and then is geared towards being ready to go to Australia and win a medal.
‘It is something I am hugely confident I am going to do.’
