Rezzers make a statement of intent
RESOLUTION IT laid down a big early statement of intent as they kicked off the new Premier League season with a thumping 80-26 victory at the Grammar School last night.
However, even after brushing Nerine Thunder aside with ease, captain Lois Batiste refused to get carried away with any premature title ambitions and insisted that reigning champions Titans remain favourites.
Batiste played the game at wing defence as a powerful and hugely-experienced ‘Rezzers’ seven won untroubled, with the skipper saying everything went as well as could have been hoped.
‘There was definitely quite a bit of rustiness about and we weren’t great early on, Thunder made a few changes that we took a bit of time to adapt to,’ Batiste said.
‘But we were really pleased with how well we played in the final quarter and with it being the first game of the season, it was a really good win.’
