Since arriving on loan last month, professional goalkeeper Stanton has been the Green Lions’ best player with a string of man-of-the-match performances in his 10 appearances so far.

But he suffered an injury in training this week that although yet to be officially diagnosed it is believed to be torn ankle ligaments, which could rule him out for a number of weeks.

However, any panic that GFC manager Tony Vance may have had was immediately extinguished by the fact that Bournemouth have offered under-18s keeper Dennis as a direct replacement.

Dennis will slot in straight away at Footes Lane for the visit of free-scoring Carshalton Athletic.

‘It is a fantastic gesture from Bournemouth to offer us Will as soon as Callum picked up his injury and it is something we are hugely grateful for,’ said Vance.

‘Everybody has seen the effect that Callum has had on us so far with his performances and the certainty he provides for us in such an important position.

‘I don’t know too much at all about Will but expect him to be very similar.’

But there is some big positive news for Vance as he names both Ross Allen and Robbie Legg in a 16-man squad that has a real attacking feel about it.

Kick-off today is at 2pm.
