Rovers' 'lefties' run riot in the sun as they extend advantage at top
CARLOS CANHA again led the way as Rovers improved their advantage at the top of the FNB Priaulx League table on Saturday.
The Portuguese netted twice more as the defending champions blitzed Vale Rec at Port Soif with a 15-minute three goal burst, eventually winning 6-1.
Blair Howitt also scored a brace, while Sam Hall and Sam Wright got the others, as they remained unbeaten and moved three points clear at the top.
Their cause was helped by St Martin's squandering a late lead at Northfield on Friday night to draw 3-3 with Manzur, as the new boys fought back superbly.
It all means that Rovers are three points clear and have a game in hand, but third-placed North are continuing to keep the pressure on.
They are now seven points back on Rovers, but with a game in hand, after beating Rangers 4-0 in the other Friday night game on the KGV's 3G surface.
