McGrath set to join North from St Martin's

Just three days after netting a brace for St Martin’s, the FNB Priaulx League’s most natural goalscorer has made what to many will be a shock decision to move to one of their expected big title rivals.

And if the transfer request – which was due to be submitted and processed online last night – goes through, then the 31-year-old could be involved with his new club as soon as tonight’s Stranger Cup game with the Last Post.

‘Basically, I haven’t been enjoying my football this season at Saints and that has been a big part of the reason why I have performed so poorly,’ he said.

‘I am at an age now where I have to be enjoying my football to play and hopefully this move will freshen things up and get me enjoying it again, like I was when I was at Captain’s last season.'
