Green Lions’ pack keeping up the fight

PLAYER availability and thus competition for Guernsey FC places is at its highest for four years, says Tony Vance, as his side look to continue their good form.

The Green Lions visit East Grinstead Town today in Bostik South, looking to complete a double over the ‘Wasps’ after beating them on the opening day.

If they do, it will be a fourth win in five for Vance’s men, who have lifted themselves to 19th place.

Dave Rihoy, Dom Heaume and Harry Tobin are unavailable, while Keanu Marsh (groin) is injured, but otherwise it is a full-strength GFC squad of 16 travelling and manager Vance is in positive mood.

‘In terms of player availability, this is the best it has been at this stage of the season since our first in this league [2013-14], when we had good options,’ he said.

‘With what we have at the moment these are the kind of away games we should be confident of getting a positive result from.’

Today’s match kicks off at 1pm.
