A sign of how any Guernsey side is doing in their respective sport is the size of the crowds they attract and on Saturday a conservative estimate of 700 took their places in the Garenne Stand to see the green-and-whites maintain their position at the top of London & South-East Premier with their seventh win out of eight games this season and extend their unbeaten home record.

Those fans were also treated to some moments of magic in a 29-17 victory, the most memorable being a scintillating team try on the stroke of half-time that club president Ady Le Page rated as among the best, if not the best, he has seen in all his time at Footes Lane.

Luke Sayer scored that one to add to tries for Sam Whitehead, Cameron Craine and Owen Thomas as well as a penalty try.

All this against a strong Westcliff outfit who arrived full of confidence after their win over previous leaders Barnes the week before.
