It will be tough for the returning Ridunians

CHAMPIONS Vale Rec will play Rovers’ third team in the opening round of their Rossborough Insurance Guernsey FA Cup defence.

But in an otherwise mundane draw for the opening two rounds – made at GFA headquarters yesterday morning – a couple of games stand out as particularly interesting fare.

Alderney, returning to the competition for the first time in many seasons, have drawn North in the second round, while Priaulx League leaders Rovers are likely to have Stranger Cup surprise package Red Lion to overcome to reach the quarter-finals.
