Strong GFC squad means no excuses

AFTER naming what he believes is his strongest ever squad for a midweek away fixture, Tony Vance admits there are no excuses for Guernsey FC tonight.

The Green Lions manager is also in buoyant mood and says that his side are ‘on the right track’ after two Jekyll-and-Hyde performances at home last week.

But he knows that promise must be turned into Bostik South points at Molesey tonight as 21st hosts 20th, with just one point separating the sides ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off.

To aid that quest Vance is able to name 10 of the players who have been unchanged in starting the last two games, the only omission being the holidaying Tom de la Mare.

His place at right-back is likely to be taken by the returning Keanu Marsh and of the regular squad, only Glyn Dyer has made himself unavailable, while

Kieran Mahon is injured.

‘I certainly can’t remember ever being able to name a squad this strong before for a Tuesday night away game, so it shows our approach at the moment is working,’ said Vance.

‘All of the players are worried about losing their shirts if they don’t travel, which is exactly what we want, so there are no excuses from that point of view if we don’t get a result at Molesey.'

Guernsey FC squad: Dennis, Marsh, Geall, F. Tobin, Le Prevost, Dodd, H. Tobin, Dodds, Young, Gauvain, Loaring, Skillen, Smith, Pereira, Rihoy, Allen.
