Allen strikes twice as GFC win at Molesey

ROSS ALLEN’S late strike at Walton Road last night settled the nerves of all Green Lions fans just when it seemed they might throw away another two points in Bostik League South.

Molesey, who started the night just one place below GFC in the table, got it back to 2-3 with 15min. left, but a nervy finish was eased when Allen got his second of the night from the spot.

Earlier, Craig Young's deflected shot had opened the scoring seven minutes before half-time.

The home side quickly drew level through Antonio Simeone's penalty but the Lions went straight back up the other end and Allen hit a superb dipping volley into the roof of the goal.

Nine minutes into the second half Keanu Marsh produced a fine finish on Charlton Gauvain’s pass. Young hit the post before Ross Chalke pulled one back on 76min. but GFC held firm to climb to 17th.
