Priaulx finishes third in race and standings

ANDY PRIAULX and Harry Tincknell fought right to the end of the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship for the GT FIA Endurance Drivers’ Championship, but a podium in Bahrain was not enough for the British duo to take the title.

They finished third in their Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team Ford GT – the same position they were in the championship at the end of the exciting six-hour race.

While he was obviously disappointed not to win the title after such a strong season, the Guernsey driver was realistic about how tough the competition was.

‘It looked like we could be in with a chance at the beginning, but we just didn’t have an answer for the Ferraris today,’ Priaulx said.

‘We’ve had a brilliant season – two wins, second at Le Mans and fought to the very end of the championship.’
