Robin considers giving Fazakerley a run in side

ROVERS, who would go six points clear at the top of the FNB Priaulx League table with victory at the Corbet Field tonight, have a new face in their camp.

Former Sylvans keeper Tom Bruley has joined the club, who are set to lose the man who was behind the sticks on the historic May day that they clinched the title for the first time.

Sylwester Goreczny is set to move to Jersey with his wife, so Rovers coach Jez Robin is happy to have Bruley to challenge Harry Ingrouille for the No. 1 jersey.

Robin reports that he will have virtually a full strength squad for the visit to the Corbet – pitch conditions permitting.

Vale Rec moved all their scheduled home games to KGV 3G at the weekend and the game must be rated as doubtful.

If it does go ahead Robin said it was very likely he will start with new recruit Will Fazakerley, whose arrival takes greater significance with the imminent loss of Fin Whitmore.

‘It is in my thoughts [to start Fazakerley] as we only have three more games with Fin. His last game for us is on the 16th.

‘He is going travelling for a year and then plans to head off to university. So that’s him gone for four years.’

Tomorrow night, North are back in action at home to Rangers. Both scheduled games have 7.30 kick-offs.
