Five wins from five for perfect Rezzers
WINNING in comfortable fashion without their star name proves the depth of quality to Resolution IT’s ranks, says Anna Burns, as they march on relentlessly in their title quest.
This season’s pacesetters had barely been troubled in winning their opening four Premier League matches and that trend continued at the Grammar School on Tuesday.
Even without the ill Verona Tomlin, this 22-goal victory over a Blaze side containing three island players opened up a 19-point cushion at the top of the table.
That lead masks the fact that reigning champions Titans have only played twice, with the big two set to meet next week, but Burns is delighted with how ‘Rezzers’ are flying.
‘It certainly didn’t feel as comfortable as the scoreline looked, but we played well and barring a pretty shaky third quarter, it was a good performance,’ said the shooter who picked up her side’s player-of-the-match award.
Next Tuesday sees a rare double-header as all four sides are in action in the final round of matches before the five-week Christmas break.
Thunder take on Blaze at 7pm, before the top-two clash as Titans look to close that sizeable gap on Rezzers in a contest that starts at 8.15pm.
