Time to talk up Raiders demand

RAIDERS roll right on, their 14th home win in 15 matches dating back to Bonfire Night last November taking them to the top of the London & South East Premier table on Saturday.

A tense 19-13 win over third-placed Tring, many pundits favourites for the title, again highlighted the power of Jordan Reynolds side and immediately afterwards the coach said it was perhaps time some of those experts started talking more favourably about Guernsey who were helped into top spot by the fact that Hereford’s game at Westcliff was postponed.

‘Everyone’s saying Tring are this, Tring are that, but when are people going to turnaround and start saying Guernsey are this and that. I thought today, we were really composed.

‘For them to score only once [in stoppage time] that’s pretty decent on our part.’

Raiders ultimately won by three tries to one, two of them coming in the first half as they led 12-6 at the break.

The home side were down to 14 men for the final 10 minutes and it was during that period that an obviously accomplished Tring side scored in the final move of the match.
