In windy conditions, the returning Dawes looked impressive in winning the six-mile Division One race by over a minute, clocking 33min. 12sec. Andrew Van Kints and Carl Holden completed the top three.

Perrio took a comfortable victory in the four-mile women’s race, clocking 24-30 en route to a six-mile time of 37-25.

The Division Two honours went to under-17 runner Sam Culverwell, who covered the four miles 26 seconds quicker than Perrio.

Summer Woodhead was the winner of the two-mile under-13 race in 12-27.

With one race remaining and discards to be considered, Dawes is the definite favourite for overall victory.

The finale will take place on Saturday 20 January at the Home Farm near Saumarez Park.
