The popular Guernsey Table Tennis Association president, who has held the role since 1999, was honoured for his services to table tennis.

Guernsey Sports Commission operations director Graham Chester has worked closely with Webb over the years and said he is ‘chuffed’ to see his friend honoured in such a way.

‘I am chuffed for him and it is well-deserved because he has put in so many hours of tireless work in over many, many years as a volunteer,’ he said.

‘He has been incredibly dedicated to his sport, like so many are over here, doing so much without ever asking for anything back in return. This honour is a testament to that.’
