Nine in a row for Raiders
A NINTH straight win achieved despite a worrying start keeps Raiders flying high at the top of the London & South-East Premier table.
From 12-0 down early on, Jordan Reynolds’ men ran in seven tries in a 46-15 romp at Southend Saxons where the elements had a major say in proceedings.
‘It took us to almost half-time to get going, but to be fair it was probably a 20-point wind,’ said the Raiders coach having watched his side inch back to 15-10 down at the break and then, with the slope and strong wind at their backs, romp away in the second 40min.
Both Luke Sayer and Owen Thomas scored two tries while there was one apiece for Doug Horrocks, Anthony Armstrong and Sam Whitehead.
It was a bonus-point victory that keeps the Guernsey side six points clear of the leading chasers Barnes and eight ahead of third-placed Tring – who both won – and overall a performance which Reynolds was comfortable with.
