New boss off and running

NEW boss Chris Tardif said he aims to win every game he plays and he got that wish as his reign as Guernsey manager started under the Footes Lane lights with a victory far more comfortable than the 3-1 scoreline suggests.

When Ben Briely hit a 30-yarder past Leroy Riley late on for the Royal Navy U23s it was game on for the final few minutes, but the greens might have hit four or five before the break and then handicapped themselves with a string of changes in the second as everyone in the squad got minutes.

Just four hosts played the entirety, but how much Tardif learned about his team, other than Craig Young and Ben Coulter looked a class apart, only he could say.

The goals came from Stuart Roussel, Dominic Heaume and Marc McGrath.
