Raiders prove their point in some style
AFTER nailing Sidcup for 48 first-half points on their way to a whopping 69-5 win, Raiders head coach Jordan Reynolds was a mightily satisfied man leaving Footes Lane on Saturday.
A 10th straight win keeps them six points clear of the chasing London & SE Premier pack - who all won - but after some iffy starts of late Reynolds purred over his side's performance.
‘Playing into the wind it was really good and it was good to see our backline finishing off the work of our forwards,’ he said.
‘Lots of the things we have been working on for years worked today and to put 69 points on them was a “beasting” effort from our boys to show that we deserve to be No. 1.
‘The conditions were really poor out there so it was good to see we could get that (slick moves) out of the way despite running into the wind.
‘We just wanted to perform well against a team who a lot of their supporters have said Barnes are the best team they have seen, so we will see what they say after that.’
St Jacques made it a local double later in the afternoon, beating Midhurst 8-5.
