Four still in title race

ANY win will do is Jordan Reynolds’ message to his Raiders as they aim to maintain their lead in London & South-East Premier tomorrow.

He added that it is still very much a four-way title race as, while the top three were enjoying a bye week last weekend, fourth-placed Hertford were winning their game in hand 19-12 away to Westcliff to remain among the title contenders.

‘We are only two losses from being out the back there somewhere,’ was Reynolds’ realistic assessment of the title race yesterday.

‘I believe Hertford will go through and win all their games now whereas the top three – us, Barnes and Tring – still have to play each other.

‘By the sounds of it, Westcliff should have won that game last week, but fair play to Hertford for holding on and it is probably going to come down to who picks up the most bonus points.’

However, the Raiders coach is not concerned about bonus points this weekend when it is all about replicating Hertford’s win at Westcliff.

‘I always thought this was going to be one of the bigger games because going to Westcliff is up there with going to Barnes or Hertford in terms of difficulty,’ Reynolds said.

‘The fact that they got to play last week while we got to rest could work either way, but right now I would take a 3-0 win if we could get it.’
