Louis Hunter’s headed goal on the stroke of half-time in the clash of the top two at a thoroughly wet and windy Blanche Pierre Lane last night moved St Martin’s four points clear of Rovers in the FNB Priaulx League.

Jez Robin’s men still have three games in hand, but they have lost their momentum with this being their second defeat in a row and now Saints have points on the board.

The decisive moment came in the 50th minute of the first half, when a free kick out on the left was whipped into the middle of the penalty area where Hunter made his presence felt to nod past Josh Addison and into the net. It ended 1-0.

Meanwhile, the tenants beat their lodgers at Northfield where North overcame Manzur 3-0.
