Youngsters impress GFC manager Vance in defeat
A DEPLETED Guernsey FC squad may have gone down 5-0 to promotion chasing Corinthian-Casuals on Tuesday night, but Tony Vance was pleased to be able to give two teenagers significant moments in their senior careers.
Centre-forward Callum Le Lacheur made his first start for the Green Lions and impressed in his 64 minutes on the pitch before he was replaced by debutant Miles Hardill, who slotted in at left back.
‘I thought Callum did really well up there, it was really difficult but he did very well,’ Vance said.
‘We are trying to put round pegs in round holes, so it was a question of who are we going to start given the group we had and ultimately he is a player who plays up front, so why not? He has done fairly well when he has come on for us, he’s earnt his opportunity and he took it well.
‘As for Miles, when he came on, I thought he did really, really well. I was very impressed with him.’
