The strength and quality of the visiting Dutch squad was there for all to see in all facets of the game as some quality batting was backed up by a bowling attack with plenty of variety and a fielding unit that barely let a chance go to waste.

In the first of the two matches, Sikander Zulfiqar made a high-class 75 coming in at first wicket down, which was the main contribution in a daunting total of 173 for six.

He hit three fours and the same number of sixes in his 45-ball innings that was eventually brought to an end by Ben Ferbrache, who picked up three wickets for Guernsey.

Opener Vikram Singh chipped in with 43 at the top of the order as the Dutch set the home side a target they never looked like reaching as four of the top five made starts but failed to go on to make a big score and they fell 76 runs short of the opposition.

The hosts were more competitive in the second game, largely due to the presence of Jordon Martel in their XI as he bowled an outstanding spell of left-arm seam, mixing up his pace superbly to claim a couple of wickets both leg before including top-scorer Bas De Leede just after he had reached 50.

Chasing 136 this time, Guernsey struggled early on and slumped to 19 for five before some decent lower order hitting from Charles Vorster, who launched a couple of big sixes, and Martel helped them up to a more respectable 104 all out.
