The Guernsey driver is aiming for victory in the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours race, too.

He is once again joined by Harry Tincknell and Tony Kanaan in the Ford Chip Ganassi No. 67 Ford GT as one of 17 entries from six different manufacturers in the LM GTE Pro class, an increase of four entries on last year when Priaulx and his teammates finished on the podium at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

‘It is not easy to describe the anticipation ahead of this event,’ said Guernsey’s three-time world champion.

‘We were there for the official Test Day [10 days ago] and just being on this track gets the adrenaline pumping.

‘Our car performed well then and I have every confidence it will be the same when we get to the race.

‘Last year we scored a podium with second and all three of us are aiming for one step higher,’ he added.

Priaulx is relishing the challenge ahead, despite the increase in entries making it tougher than ever before.

‘Every year the competition gets tougher and this year it is amazing,’ he said.

‘The size and quality of the field in our class shows just how important this is as a racing category.

‘While this makes our job harder, it also makes doing well even more rewarding.’
