Guernsey Raiders 26, Worthing Raiders 35
GUERNSEY lost the battle of the Raiders as Worthing won the first ever National Two South match at Footes Lane on Saturday.
The visitors scored five converted tries to emerge 35-26 winners on a day when Guernsey's injury jinx struck again with both Anthony Armstrong and Daley Aremu failing to make the second half.
The home tries came from Jason Batiste, Matt Thomas, Doug Horrocks and Lewis Hillier with Alex Gow kicking three conversions.
‘They took their chances well and I’m not here to take anything away from Worthing. They deserved that and with Worthing getting hammered last week and coming back this week, it’s fair play to them,' said Guernsey coach Jordan Reynolds.
‘The effort was there, I think, we just weren’t right on the money and that’s all that matters.
‘It’s a learning curve for us.’
