The Guernsey youngster secured his second win of the season in the opening race of three, leading from start-to-finish to repeat his success in the season opener on the shorter Indy circuit.

Priaulx was in imperious form at the head of the field having taken his maiden pole earlier in the day.

Keeping his lead when the lights went out, Priaulx was able to edge away from fellow front-row starter Johnathan Hoggard (Fortec) to secure his second victory of the campaign – setting a new lap record in the process.

‘It’s been a good day for me,’ he said with gross understatement.

‘The pole position was crucial but it was one of those days where I relaxed and it all came together. Being out front was key as it is easier to lead the way in clear air and I’m delighted to get a win.

‘Brands GP is a circuit I love and from P2 on the grid for the final race of the weekend tomorrow, it would be good if we could repeat this but it’ll come down to the start and whether we can get ahead.’

The young Sarnian was then sixth in race two as he started down the grid, but back on the front row for the final race he was again on the podium with a runner-up placing, finishing less than a second behind Hoggard.
