Sylvans add to Bels woes

Bels remain without a league win after last night’s 3-1 demise at UCF Sylvans' hands on a still evening at the Track.

Both sides took to the field with different and accomplished keepers, Rhys Gower returning for the home side and Paul de Garis, the coach, in the Sylvans goal.

Ryan-Zico Black helped form a half decent midfield with Ant Austen, Billy Page and young Ben Ogier spread either side of the old maestro. But it was Sylvans, via Joe Collenette, who took a 14th minute lead, beating Gower with a low shot from the edge of the area.

Austen almost levelled inside a minute but as bright they were going forward initially, Bels were less assured in defence and Gower was kept busy, making a couple of fines saves before Harry Southwell lashed in a second on 33.

It got worse for Bels as Ciaran Gallagher finished superbly and in the second half Collenette hit the post and Page headed a late consolation
