She and her horse Defensor SF delighted a small keen crowd of spectators with a wonderful five minutes of her dressage freestyle to music routine at the Guernsey Dressage Championships.

They picked up an amazing score of 76.19% and were the winners of the coveted Ray & Scott trophy, gaining the highest percentage of all the music classes at the championships.

This proved to be a great warm-up to her success in England a few days later where she won this class at European level representing Great Britain in the Iberian Championships.

The following day, they went on to win the Medium Open Championships, which proved to be one of the best classes of the weekend.

Farnon held a score of 72.16%, followed by her sister Catherine Best riding Cherie Noire on 69.26% and third place went to Becky Mann riding Fraque to 67.23%.

There were very few entries in the dressage to music classes, but they all managed to give the spectators a real treat.

Becky Mann riding Meelickisland Finn won the junior novice section with 70.42%, Ros Bell-Smith riding Fraque won the open novice section on 70.14% and this combination went on to win the Elementary music section by a whisker with 67.49% from Catherine Hall on Koloso OVL with 66.83%.

Bell-Smith then proceeded to win the Novice Open Championship with 68.71%, with a very close second place going to Sophie Garnham riding Danny Burtenshaw’s Wirbelwind with 67.26%. This game little pony has formed a great partnership with Garnham and had a fantastic score of 70.16% on Friday evening in the warm-up classes.

The novice restricted champions were Ruby Mourant riding her Trevoulter Silver Dazzle on a score of 64.03%

The preliminary restricted champions were Rhiannon Dowinton on her horse Belle Amour.

The preliminary Open Championship Class and top four combinations were in hot contention for the trophy, all gaining huge medals over the whole weekend.

The final champions were Rob Fearis riding his new horse Chester to 70.06%.

Hot on his heels was Hannah de Jersey riding her Hetties Little Dancer on 69.38%.

Third was Catherine Best riding her new horse George Best to 68.96% and fourth was Ruby Mourant riding Ceiniki W to 68.75%.

Becky Mann riding Meelickisland Finn came out on top in the under-16 novice championship with 69.03%.

Once again the two English judges, who are on list 1 and 2, were very impressed with the standards.

. The next competition is taking place this weekend.
