Third-quarter blitz turns the tide for LMS

LMS produced a lesson in patience and perseverance as well as an excellent team ethic to defeat Mayside 80-63 last night in the men’s top flight at Beau Sejour.

The men in blue had to come from behind after a strong first-half showing from Pat Ogier’s side, which saw Mayside open up a 12-point lead at one stage thanks to a flurry of points at the end of the opening quarter, but there was never any sign of panic from LMS.

With Dan Marriott once again playing a leading role, although by no means a lone one with brothers Mike and Pete Beausire and also James Tracey scoring valuable points while Matt Sawbridge orchestrated proceedings and Jason Hull shone with his intensity on defence, LMS turned things around in style, scoring 22 points in the third quarter while conceding just seven.

They then closed out the match with no alarms.
