A brilliant Charlton Gauvain inspired 4-0 win over Vale Rec at the KGV 3G last night takes them clear at the top of Group B with three straight wins, while the loss may yet not be too damaging for the yellows who still sit second, three points clear.

The youngsters, led by Dave Gilman and Stewart Moyles on this occasion, made the most of their first period wind advantage, going into half-time 3-0 ahead thanks to a Jake Robin brace and a Brad O’Regan goal.

Vale Rec had hit both the bar and post and had another effort cleared off the line, but there was no amazing recovery from 3-0 down this week.

Even though super-sub Craig Tyrrell was again introduced late on they were finally sunk by a Gauvain goal after his initial chip had bounced back off the bar.

Tonight, Manzur and Sylvans meetfor FNB Priaulx points.
