Leaders and champs draw a blank at BPL

ROVERS’ grip on the Priaulx Cup is loosening.

The champions are not out of the title race yet, but last night they missed their big opportunity to make up ground on the leaders as they fought out a scrappy goalless draw with St Martin’s at Blanche Pierre Lane that leaves Jez Robin’s men nine points behind Saints, albeit with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Saints have edged another point clear at the top and lead second-placed Alderney by six points, but have now ‘dropped’ as many points as the Ridunians, who have two games in hand.

Alderney can close the gap at the top to three points if they beat Vale Rec at Mount Hale on Saturday and by the next time St Martin’s play on 19 March, the Ridunians, who play three times by then, could be ahead of them.
