‘Hallelujah’ says Vance to deadline
JIM WHITE, he of the Sky Sports tea-time news team with the loud yellow tie, may not be the slightest bit interested, but Tony Vance and all Guernsey FC fans will be. Tomorrow is ‘transfer deadline day’ in the Bostik Leagues.
The message from the Isthmian League administrators is that if transfers aren’t completed by Thursday, they won’t be completed at all.
‘That’s it – there will be no more,’ states their website, and that will please Vance greatly.
‘Hallelujah,’ was Vance’s first reaction to the very imminent deadline.
Guernsey FC grabbed a vital point at home to Faversham Town on Saturday, the English side arriving at Footes Lane with a new striker in Carl Rook.
Meanwhile, Greenwich Borough, the only side below GFC in the Bostik SE table, have further added to their squad with the hiring of defender Geofrey Okonkwo from Grays Athletic.
