Two sucker-punch goals conceded in the 90th minute and beyond saw GFC’s miserable home record continue.

For almost a full hour the Green Lions led after Carlos Canha's opener, but after half-time were under the cosh and, even though they were deserving of at least a point, they got lucky in avoiding a likely penalty for handball and seeing a Matt Loaring goal scrubbed out for offside.

Those two decisions against his men left Tony Vance livid.

‘It was blatant handball and Matt ran past the defender, so how can it be offside?’ groaned Vance.

‘That aside, they murdered us second half.

‘They were a team playing with no fear and they could just go for it. They were very expansive second half and we were hanging on from half time after we did a great job first half.

‘We need a little bit of help at the moment and I thought the referee was disappointing there.’
