Clad in a Hampshire vest showcasing his national-level prestige, the 2017 Easter champion once again headed a field brimming with talent as he loped out to top honours in yesterday’s 10km road race.

But the going was somewhat more challenging than the 18-year-old Portsmouth athlete made it look en route to a 33min. 5sec. finish.

‘I just wanted to do as little as possible today, as I’ve been really tired and my feet have been at me the last week,’ said the pleased winner.

Women's winner Sarah Mercier’s 35-37 was just outside her own record mark but nevertheless worthy of another victory, while in-form Jenny James’ 37-22 represented a new road PB.
