SEB TREMLETT has ended his Easter campaign with another course record – but there was no stopping Sam Culverwell from taking overall honours.

Tremlett’s performance in Monday’s Reservoir time-trial provided a strong conclusion to the well-attended Paul Van Katwyk Memorial Easter Festival weekend.

The star time-trialist clocked 43min. 53sec. to slice the best part of five minutes off the previous record for the hilly 19-mile course, which unfolds over three laps.

This was his second record from two events this Easter and came off the back of a new club mark in Saturday’s 10-mile TT.

However, young Culverwell topped the general classification by nearly five minutes at the end of the week after picking up on the absences of several key rivals.

Culverwell consolidated the previous day’s win with 45-29 for second at the Reservoir, having come from a minute behind to catch Marc Cox late into the ride, but Cox still claimed ‘GC’ runner-up due to finishing third on the day.

Aaron Bailey was next up as six riders, including overall veterans’ champion Anthony Bleasdale, surpassed the old record to varying degrees.

Karina Bowie was the lead lady with 55-24, which allowed her to further her lead over Danielle Hanley and Hannah Brehaut in the overall standings.
