ROVERS are guaranteed a top-three finish after completing their FNB Priaulx League campaign with a 2-1 win over North at Northfield last night.

The reigning champions, who hit the crossbar three times in the first half, led through Sam Hall’s goal at the interval.

North equalised two minutes into the second half thanks to Reece De Carteret’s crisp 25-yard strike, but Tom Strawbridge headed home Luke Winch’s cross seven minutes later to claim all three points.

Rovers move up to second with the win, but can be overtaken by Alderney. North finish in fourth.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday night, a 2-1 victory for Vale Rec over Bels saw them crowned as Lancaster Division One champions.

The destination of the Lancaster Division Three title could be decided tonight when long-time league leaders Manor Farm Saints meet Rocquaine Pirates at Blanche Pierre Lane.

In the tightest of all GFLM leagues – the middle five of nine teams are separated by just three points – the leading two have broken clear of the pack in recent weeks as Thrive Physiotherapy’s title challenge evaporated.

Saints have a three-point lead but Rocquaine still have a game in hand. However, that will only be relevant if they can win tonight, as Saints’ goal difference is far superior.
