The penultimate race of the FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season sees the series return to one of only two venues that the teams race twice, the other being Le Mans.

Priaulx and Harry Tincknell will be sharing the No. 67 Ford GT and, as usual, will be up against the tough competition from Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari and Porsche in the 10-strong LMGTE Pro class.

However, they head into the weekend buoyed by a podium in the last race in Sebring and it was a confident triple world champion who was looking forward to the race in Belgium.

‘I am in a confident mood ahead of this race as I know our car can do well there,’ said Priaulx.

‘Finishing third in Sebring, which was a very tricky race, was good but we definitely have our sights set on a couple of places higher on the podium this coming weekend.’

It is difficult to find a driver who does not enjoy racing at Spa and Priaulx is certainly a big fan of the track.

‘This is a race that I always look forward to and love the feeling when I take the Ford GT car out for the first time,’ he said.

‘It is long and tough, but has such an amazing flow to it.

‘When you put in a good lap there is always a great sense of achievement.’

The action starts today with two free practice sessions.

Free practice three takes place tomorrow morning and is followed by qualifying in the afternoon.

The six-hour race starts at 12.30pm BST on Saturday.
