The Under-17s got the ball rolling with a 64-53 win before the Under-21s triumphed 74-48.

The women then took centre stage, making it 20 consecutive wins in the annual clash with a 51-35 success, although it was not a vintage performance.

‘It’s always nice to win. Twenty in a row is a fantastic achievement and it’s nice to have another Inter-Insular victory, but we realise that there’s work to do,’ said Guernsey Women's coach Pat Ogier.

‘Too many turnovers, too many missed easy chances and at times a bit lax in our defence so there’s a lot of room for improvement before we go to Gibraltar.’

Adam Farish's men's squad then completed the day in style as they ran out 83-59 winners.

‘The first half was good, we lost our way in the third quarter but I think there’s a lot of lessons to be learnt there, so it’s a positive thing,’ said Guernsey coach Adam Farish.

‘The guys like Hoops are already saying “we could have done this different, done that differently” and going into these games, that’s the standards we hold ourselves to now.

‘It’s a good win on the scoreboard, but we look at it and say it could have been better.’
