The 18-year-old and experienced partner Scott Maxwell top the GT4 standings after six events, with the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang duo’s near-perfect weekend in Leicestershire making them the first drivers to record two victories this season.

It began with some blistering pace that enabled them to record the leading times in both free practice sessions and qualifying.

Bright and sunny conditions continued into race day and Maxwell kicked off the action with a great opening stint, starting from pole position.

Settling into second, the Canadian racer stayed right on the tail of the class leader throughout before heading into the pit-lane just past the hour mark.

Emerging from the pit-stop just three seconds down on a new leader, Priaulx quickly focused on closing down the gap.

Within just seven laps, he was on his tail and with 23 minutes to go, a slick move into the Melbourne Hairpin earned him the lead.

He never looked back en route to securing a victory margin of nearly nine seconds, elevating Multimatic into the overall lead ahead of the previously leading HHC Motorsport No. 57 driven by Dean MacDonald and Callum Pointon.

‘I’m absolutely over the moon with the weekend – we couldn’t have asked for anything more,’ said Priaulx.

‘This was all possible thanks to the Multimatic Motorsports team, as they gave us a perfect car that Scott and I could push to the absolute limits.

‘It was a special feeling getting back onto the top step of the podium and taking the British GT4 Championship points lead in my first season in the series is brilliant.

‘Now we have it, though, we certainly don’t intend to let it go. Bring on Spa.’

The Guernsey driver next competes at the Spa-Francorchamps on the weekend of 20 July, notably racing for the same team as his father Andy and Olympian Sir Chris Hoy in their own Mustang.
