It required a safe pair of hands from Andrew Oxburgh to catch Ben Wentzel off the last ball of the match, bowled by captain Lucas Barker, to seal victory for the blues against Barbarians at the KGV.

Cameos from Barker (34 off 18) and Ash Wright (38 off 20) at the top of the order set the platform for the Rovers total of 139 for 9 from their 18 overs, with Declan Martel chipping in with 30 while Adam Wakeford made a crucial 16 from just eight balls down the order.

Openers Gashi Masvikeni (38 off 25) and Waleed Jami (36 off 37) got the Baa-Baas run chase off to a good start but it all came down to two being required off the final delivery and it was Rovers who held their nerve.

The Premier title can be decided tonight at the KGV, where Griffins will be crowned champions if they beat Cobo.

If reigning champions Cobo, who trail their opponents by a single point, win, the destination of the Rozel Shield will be in their hands, with the final round of fixtures coming up next week.
