Manzur up to second
MANZUR jumped four places to second in the FNB Priaulx League last night thanks to a 2-0 victory over Rangers at the Track.
They joined leaders Alderney on 12 points, albeit having played two games more than the Ridunians who have a superior goal difference.
The result leaves Rangers rooted to the bottom of the table, but it was an encouraging performance from Gary Simon’s side who benefitted from having Matt Loaring in central midfield.
The game was goalless at half-time, with Manzur having hit the post through another GFC man, Kieran Mahon, while Glyn Dyer had a goal ruled out for offside and Shane Billien went close for Rangers.
Substitute Louis Travis broke the deadlock with a low drive shortly after the interval and midway through the second half captain Craig Young secured the three points from the penalty spot.
