The Green Lions began confidently but conceded before the break.
The visitors thought they had levelled on 54 minutes but no sooner had Will Fazakerley prodded home the assistant referee’s flag went up to to chalk off the strike.
Barking manager Justin Gardner said GFC were a ‘very good side’.
‘It was a very, very difficult game and we took one of the very few chances we had in the second half,’ said Gardner whose team have now won six matches in all competitions on the bounce.
The result ended GFC’s run of five games without defeat.
