Harmon protege Goodall arrives from Dubai
BUTCH HARMON is one of the biggest names and recognisable faces in professional golf and his School of Golf is set to produce the island’s first female PGA Golf Professional.
Guernsey Golf Limited has appointed Natalie Goodall to teach at both the Guernsey Golf Academy based at The Golf Club at St Pierre Park and also Golf School at the Royal Guernsey.
She joins the GGL coaching team straight from the Butch Harmon School of Golf in Dubai, where she worked primarily on junior and women’s golf programmes.
Originating from Scotland, Goodall studied and played at the Darren Clarke Golf School in Northern Ireland before securing a teaching post in Dubai.
‘I’m very excited to get stuck in with junior and women’s golf in Guernsey. It’s a beautiful island and there is so much potential to grow the sport with these groups,’ she said.
‘I love teaching people to play, whatever their level or age. I plan to develop women-only groups and coaching sessions, as well as reaching out to younger golfers, from the age of three.’
Goodall started playing golf at the age of 12 and played in competitions around the world.
During her time at the Darren Clarke School, she did numerous internships at the Butch Harmon School of Golf, where she helped with their junior programme, while shadowing the director of instruction Justin Parsons.
She graduated in 2013 and accepted a job at Butch Harmon, where she continued to work with juniors while creating new programmes for women’s golf in Dubai.
‘Natalie is a fantastic addition to our coaching team and we are delighted to have her here,’ said Matt Groves, managing director of Guernsey Golf Limited. ‘Her enthusiasm for the game and for getting women and children excited about golf is clearly evident,’ he added.
She will be based at The Golf Club Monday, Friday and Saturday and Royal Guernsey on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Goodall, who is in the final stages of achieving her PGA qualification, is available for individual coaching. She can be contacted at natalie@golf.gg or 07781 161113.
